This blog works alongside the no meansnoofficial.carrd.co website and the lives on the TE Instagram page @twistededgemag.
This is just the first welcome post, if you're reading this, this is just a 'what and why' No means No is here for.
Simply, TE Magazine, The Black Book magazine, Little Black Book Uncensored, Little Black Book magazine and ASX Official are all industry experts, tired of hearing the same scare stories from models, still, in these days having bad experiences with photographers, from inappropriate behaviour or speech to inappropriate touching or pushing levels of a shoot. Whilst also tarnishing the names of the great and trusted photographers. AND we support both sides, so we are also tired of hearing about witch hunting on photographers for no good reason.
The behaviours NEED to change.
The Industry NEEDS to change.
And for the negative people out there who say, 'why do this?" = plain and simply, what has been out there is not working, so its time to try something new. This is a marathon, certainly not a sprint.
Being here for BOTH parties, we are hear to listen and accept reports of the wrong behaviours - if someone is reported we investigate, and make conclusions based on FACTS and from that point on, we either add to our 'Avoid List' (where models and photographers can check a name for us to advise yes they should be avoided) or if the behaviour and attitude we receive is not conducive, we will publicly name and shame that person/s.
And at the same time, we have created a 'Trusted Photographer & Studio Map' where trusted, recommended and verified photographers can be found, and contacted to work with.
BUT we are all very new, and small knit so we rely on the support from YOU to help spread the word of what we're doing, this is by far a marathon not a sprint and for things to change, takes time. We conduct our weekly live sessions on instagram (7:30pm Saturday) (UK GMT) to keep all updated and so far the support is amazing.
Over the next posts, we will be listing best practice, best communication, red flags, due diligence and lost more.
For those that know me, they know I am an extremely busy person, so I shall attempt to update the posts and wrote them as and when possible.
