Impression

No Means No

They say 'you never get a second chance to make a first impression' and that rings so true to anyone in this industry, especially nowadays.

So this is all about WHAT should be seen and WHERE.

A common misconception is ' drop me a dm' to shoot WRONG

For better transparency, better form of information, a model and photographer profile needs to be short, sharp, sweet and directive.

Many a time have I seen a model profile on instagram with '18 adult content creator' or 'fetish and adult model' on a profile, then heard the model complain that a photographer has asked her to shoot open leg...because 'he assumes i do that'

NOW...

Is it wrong to assume that? NO - why should it be? its written clearly on your profile?

So to stop this happening, and any miscommunication, think about what you're having written on your profile!

THEN

Think about onwards information.

To stop any misinformation and/or assumptions - you can put every piece of information somewhere, god knows instagram doesn't give enough room for that information, so where else?

Purpleport - love it or hate it = it IS a place you can put ALL your information

* Modelling Styles - covered and wanting to do

* LEVELS - the most important part, state what levels you go up to/will not do, and be detailed to stop any further issue, so if you do 'Lingerie ONLY' state this, or detail further with 'lingerie that shows no flesh/private parts' etc - the more you cover and detail the more it cannot be assumed or perceived wrongly.

* Rates - for each and all levels you do cover

* Location - where you are and where you'd travel to and how

* Cancellation/no show policy - what you charge for a no show/cancelling a shoot

* Profile - the part where you can detail all about what you do, how, why, when, where etc - if you clearly stare no adult content/open leg = then anyone stupid enough to try to push that level, speaks for itself.

Website - there are so many places you can create a free website, you do not need a .com or .co.uk domain these days, yo just need that space that all info can be put on, and at least with a free website, you can make it look as smart or designed as you wish (as you can see the No Means No website is a free one and looks pretty decent) and there are many others like it.

THEN:

On your insta/twitter profile you can link either website and/or purpleport - directing any would be working associate to see ALL information that they then cant get wrong in asking you to shoot adult etc - total transparency and if they then see you dont do nude and still ask you to do it, then that right there screams red flag unprofessional behaviour.

By doing this you are putting yourself in the position of 'ive told you what i do/dont do' and there can be no incorrect assumptions.

There is NO excuse not to do any of this, its some minutes of your time to safeguard yourself and any onward work.

* Been asked before: "I do shoot nude with one photographer but not with anyone else, and a new photographer isn't happy about that" - simple answer = AND WHAT, it is absolutely your choice who you shoot what with, and anyone not happy with that, well quite simply tough and shows you probably shouldn't work with them - end of.
